Make and Remember

Make and Remember is a tool for learning the circle of fifths by heart. Once you know the order of the keys, you know their key signatures, because each step around the circle adds one sharp or one flat.

The mnemonic

Open More, then Make and Remember. It shows the circle with a mnemonic, a short sentence whose words start with the keys in order (C, G, D, A, E, and so on). Reading the sentence walks you around the ring, so the order becomes a phrase you can recall rather than a list to memorise.
